Finally! My first video!

Ok so here it, or should I say THEY are! By the request of some wonderful ladies on the cricut message boards, I have completed a video tutorial on glass etching! With the help of my 12 year old son, and a lot of "do overs", we present to you: ME! In The Etching of the Glass, LOL!

  2. Hi Elaine,
Thanks for the video. I just got my expression not to long ago, and I have tried etching, and everytime it seems to bleed thru. I am using the armor etch from Hobbylobby. I will try your idea with the contact paper, never knew to cut it upside down. Ok, this next question is going to prove I am a newbie, LOL. At the end you had said something about wiping it off & rinsing it off, after the 10 minutes, do I just place it under water and let the water run over it, or do I wipe it off while it is under the water? I am totally LOL'ing at myself for asking this, but this stuff is not cheap and I dont want to keep wasting.
    Thanks again

  3. Hi Stacy!
I am so glad that you liked the video! I have seen many videos where the crafter takes a paper towel and literally dry wipes the excess off the glass and never instructs the viewer to rinse off the etching cream. That is what I meant by do not WIPE it off, actually WASH it off under running water. I take my finger and just run it over the etching cream while the stream of water is running over my project just to speed up the process. Once I feel all the etching cream has been washed away, I remove my stencil and then rewash my project with dish soap just as if it were a regular old dish! I hope I was able to answer your question clearly.

Thank you SO much for watching!

  6. HI! Great video. I was wondering, if you flip the contact paper up-side-down do you need to flip the lettering?

Also-What kind of scraper was that? It looked handy!!

  7. Danelle you are ABSOLUTELY correct with needing to flip the lettering as well! I'm so sorry that I didn't think to mention that! Maybe I'll do another video later where I etch words and I'll be sure to mention that because it is very important! The scraper is just the provocraft brand scraper that comes in the little kit that you can get for around 20 bucks at Walmart! I LOVE that thing! Thanks so much for watching!
